Lucy White

Lucy White graduated from Edinburgh University in 1981. After four years in mixed practice in the UK, Lucy traveled through Asia to Australia for a working holiday and never left!

In 1995, Lucy, together with Dr Dean Gust, established Frankston Heights Veterinary Centre. Lucy has a special interest in internal medicine and dermatology, including otitis (ear infections) and allergic skin disease.



Chris Franklin

Chris qualified with honours from Liverpool University in 1995. He started his professional life in mixed practice in the Lake District, before moving to companion animal work and in particular - surgery.

In 2001 he became a partner in a 20 vet practice working as the senior surgeon, and in 2004 he gained a Certificate in Surgery from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in London. Chris started receiving referrals for general surgery soon afterwards.

In 2007 Chris and his Australian wife decided to move somewhere warmer than Yorkshire! Since his arrival, he has been working mainly at Frankston Heights but also travels to other practices locally to perform surgery.

His main interest is in joint surgery and fracture repair. Chris leads the surgical team at Frankston Heights.



Amanda Fischmann

Amanda studied veterinary science at the University of Melbourne where she met her husband who is also a veterinarian on the Mornington Peninsula. She graduated with honours in 2005 and worked in small animal practice in south - east Melbourne before relocating to Frankston Heights in January 2008. She lives locally with her husband and 2 Russian Blue cats.

Amanda's veterinary interests include clinical pathology and feline medicine. In 2009 Amanda completed a year's post graduate study in Feline medicine and also took time out from the practice on maternity leave. We are delighted she continues to work for us part time. If you have a cat in need of veterinary care, Amanda is the vet to see!

Amanda is currently on materinty leave awaiting the birth of her second child in October 2011.



Will Gartrell

Will moved from Britain to Australia in 1998 to study Veterinary Science at UQ in Brisbane. He graduated in 2002 and moved to South Gippsland to work in a predominantly dairy practice where he met and married his wife.

Will moved back to Britain in 2004 working in both mixed and small animal practices - gaining valuable experience. After almost 4 years, Will and his wife returned to Victoria, settling on the Mornington Peninsula with their two small children.

Will's professional interests include internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. After a year of post graduate study in 2010, Will heads up our imaging department, in particular ultrasonography.

He enjoys working in a practice that offers the very highest level of veterinary care and is a welcome addition to the Frankston Heights team.

 



Isabella Gartell

Isabella graduated from Melbourne University in 1999 and after 5 years of large animal work in Leongatha, spent 3 years doing locum work in the UK.

She has since returned to settle on the Mornington Peninsula with her husband Will and their 2 small children.

In 2010 Isabella successfully completed a year of postgraduate study in Internal medicine. Although she is interested in both medicine and surgery, Isabella, together with Lucy is the go to vet for medical dilemmas.



Andrea Wellington

Ange studied Science at University of Melbourne before going on to complete her Veterinary Science degree. She has since worked as a small animal practitioner in Geelong and Melbourne. Last year Ange worked and traveled in the UK before starting at Frankston Heights in 2011. Ange enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, and has a particular interest in ophthalmology. She lives on the peninsula with her partner, Ben, who is also a vet, and their labrador D'Art. 



Jeremy Stannek

Jeremy studied Veterinary Science at Melbourne University, where he met his girlfriend whom is also a veterinarian. After graduating with honours in 2009 he moved to the Hunter Valley and worked for a year in asmall animal practice. Afterwards he moved back to Victoria and started working at Frankston Heights Veterinary Centre. Jeremy has a particular interest in surgery.
